Danijel Sinani, the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, stated to FoNet that police found no pyrotechnic materials at the faculty. He announced that legal procedures will be launched against media outlets that spread falsehoods and disinformed the public regarding the death of a female student whose body was found on the plateau in front of the building.

"That evening, I came to the Faculty so the police could enter to conduct the investigation and preliminary actions. According to my knowledge, the colleague who perished was alone in the hallway on the fifth floor at the time. Classes were being held on the same floor, extended because it is sometimes impossible to control whether you will have a longer discussion or more questions," said Sinani, who was questioned as a citizen at the Criminal Police Directorate (UKP).

The Dean stated that all requested documents and information have been handed over to the authorities.

"While we were at the UKP, the police thoroughly searched the entire Faculty and found absolutely nothing in terms of pyrotechnics or any flammable materials. We do not have that at the Faculty and do not keep it here, the investigation has shown that as well, as far as we know and have been told," Sinani noted.

Sinani also addressed public allegations regarding a fire.

"This happened in a hallway that is exceptionally wide and long, with three fire exits, and that window is very difficult to open. The porter passed by immediately before the event; everything was closed, there was nothing in the hallways, he turned off the light and went downstairs," Sinani stated.

Sinani announced that the continuation of regular classes is planned for Monday, after they were suspended on Friday due to the tragic event the previous evening. According to the Dean, the Faculty of Philosophy is also prepared for the announced arrival of the Education Inspection.

"We expect them as colleagues who will be able to look at everything they are interested in," said Sinani, adding that it is in everyone's absolute interest to uncover all circumstances related to the tragic event.

Late last night, a dead female student was found on the plateau in front of the Faculty of Philosophy. Police suspect she fell from the fifth floor of the building. Under the order of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office, the circumstances of the event are being investigated.
