During a visit to the EXPO 2027 construction site in Surcin, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced that the high-speed railway connecting Belgrade and Budapest is finished and currently undergoing rigorous testing.

The President noted that within the last few days, the "Soko" train entered Hungarian territory for test runs. He confirmed that while border protocols for the Kelebija crossing are still being finalized, progress is steady. "The stop there will be approximately 20-25 minutes, making the total travel time from the center of Belgrade to the center of Budapest about three hours or three hours and five minutes," Vucic stated.

Regarding the specialized EXPO 2027 exhibition, the President highlighted that current data indicates 20 more countries will participate compared to the previous event in Astana. "I believe there will be even more participants, reaching a level that will be difficult for anyone else to achieve in the future," he added.

Addressing the death of a female student whose body was found near the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, Vucic emphasized the need to wait for official findings. He expressed confidence that the results from the police and the prosecution would be "clear and unambiguous," noting that the court will have the final word. "Justice is the most important thing, and the competent authorities must determine the truth," he remarked, adding that his stance remains consistent across all such tragedies.

The President also addressed the recent entry ban imposed by Croatia on Professor Milos Kovic, who was scheduled to attend a book promotion. Vucic characterized the move as "savagery and arbitrariness" regarding entry into European Union territory.

"Anyone who comes to mind, who has a brain and wants to speak about 'Oluja', Jasenovac, Jadovno, or Serbian suffering, cannot enter Croatia," Vucic said. He indicated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would likely issue a formal protest note if they had not done so already.
